前役出戰老東家黃蜂拉傷左大腿的籃網後衛林書豪，29日沒跟球隊飛到芝加哥客場，確定缺席籃網與公牛比賽。不過根據籃網總管馬克斯透露的好消息，林書豪並非傷到先前舊傷的部位、也沒前次嚴重，壞消息則是仍無復出時間表。

這將是林書豪本季缺席第19場比賽，跟前次拉傷左大腿相比，籃網高層似乎更加小心翼翼處理。因為籃網總教練艾金生先是不肯清楚說出豪哥復出時間表，馬克斯29日也用「再評估」回應美媒的不斷追問，都可看出籃網小心的程度。

只是大腿拉傷問題可大可小，以前次林書豪休息快要40天來看，這次他恐怕至少也需缺賽一段不短時間。在他缺席時期，包含懷海德、佛義、吉爾派崔克與丁威格等人，可望頂上他的上場時間，只是籃網恐怕戰績仍將低迷。

「我們必須找到林書豪缺席期間的彌補方式，」艾金生強調，「我們除了要找出合適的輪替，也要幫助這些球員成長，我相信在林書豪缺席期間，這些球員必定能夠有所成長，總會有人可以挺身而出的。」
